That the business is….

Viable: The business will have evidence to show that the product or service is saleable, and at a level of profit that will sustain a franchised network.

Transferable: There is a means for the transfer of the know-how to a new operator at arm’s length, essential if the business is to be franchised.

Ethical: The franchise is structured and operated in accordance with the ethical principles set out in the European Code of Ethics for Franchising, which covers matters of advertising, recruiting, selecting, and interactions with franchisees. The applicant’s franchise agreement is formally assessed.

Disclosed: All information on the business that is material to the franchise proposition and contract is disclosed without ambiguity to prospective franchisees.

The British Institute of
Cleaning Science
The Institute is the largest independent professional and educational body within the cleaning industry.
Founded in 1961, its mission is 'the raising of status and standards of the cleaning industry, through education'. BICSc, as it is known, is an independent body with members in all areas of the cleaning industry, including Local Authorities, Contract Cleaners, Manufacturers, Suppliers, Trainers and by no means least, cleaning operatives themselves.
Our membership currently stands at almost 5,000 Individual and Corporate Members and our reach is global. The Institute's Membership Services, Training & Education and Finance & General Purposes Committees set the standards and develop the skills programmes necessary for the Institute's range of cleaning qualifications.

The Health & Safety Assessment Scheme

As a leading health and safety pre-qualification assessment scheme, we are dedicated to promoting higher standards of competence and compliance through the provision of relevant industry specific and tailored health and safety assessments for all professions and sectors.
ISO 9001 Certification
ISO 9001 is the international Standard against which the Quality Management System of a business is evaluated, and is intended to demonstrate that a business can provide a consistent standard of quality in the goods and services it provides to its customers.
The Standard is worded to allow it to be adaptable and non-prescriptive, and therefore it can be applied to all companies. Most importantly, it is a common sense and practical method for confirming best practice and improving procedures.
Being able to achieve a significant competitive edge over your rivals is the major benefit that ISO 9001 Certification brings. Recent surveys reveal that almost 80% of businesses sought ISO 9001 Certification because of their need to increase or maintain their market share.
ISO14001 Certification
ISO14001 is the International Environmental Management Standard which specifies the requirements to identify and control aspects which effect the environment, for example the use of natural resources, energy consumption and the management of waste.
ISO45001 Certification
ISO45001 is an Occupational Health & Safety Management Standard which consistently identifies and controls the management of Health and Safety risks.
SSIP Certification
SSIP is committed to ensure reduction in health and safety assessment costs and bureaucracy in the supply chain, by making cross-recognition between member schemes as effective as possible.
